update on BofA

well, BofA fixed the website! I can check balances and pay bills.

With all the scare tactics that the American press uses, the one I pay attention to is the hacking of bank accounts. Yes, I am concerned enough that I check the activity on our accountS at least every other day. My wife asked if I was checking up on her, and I replied that I wasn't checking up on her, but on the activity in her account. She has shopped at Target and was issued a new debit card because of that.

I also watch my investment accounts. I am within a few months of semi-retirement, and watch the value of my accounts. I am planning on leaving Home Depot, albeit temporarily, in July. My wife would like to travel to some exotic place like Paris or Grindelwald or Macchu Picchu. Maybe Alaska. I will be starting my Social Security collection (after contributing for the last 48 years) and will accompany her anywhere she would like to go. After we travel a bit, I will most likely go back to the orange box and work at least part time for the camaraderie and challenge of helping people who have no idea which end of a screwdriver to use. But after performing closing duties for the last three years, I will only work from 9 to 3, Monday through Friday.

Speaking of which, it's about time for me to log off and leave for said place now.

Bank Of America OnLine banking is sucking bad right now

Bank of America. Too big too fail. Too stupid to fix their website so I can check balances and pay bills. I deposited a check into savings yesterday and was told to check to see that it had cleared and the money was fully in my account. I was able to get the sign-in page once or twice today, but it never let me sign in. I got the little swirly arrow and was told to wait for bank of America, but the secure.bankofamerica.login.com never processed and never allowed me to log in. I tried on two other computers and got even less:NOTHING!
The idiots are willing to take your money. They may even let you have it back eventually. But figuring out where it is and how much, well, that's another thing.

On a side note, almost everywhere I went today, the humans operating their computer masters were complaining that their systems were slower than usual. Hmmmm.

That being said, any other website I was trying, seemed to work all right. Even the post office site so I could send a package over the Pacific to Korea.

Well, I found a FaceBook page for BofA and sent them a message. Then I sent it again on their "Help" page. We shall now sit back and wait to see what happens. Or IF anything happens.

A new beginning (wait! aren't all beginnings "new"?)

I have just  discovered that I am able to establish my own "blog" with the help of the weird folks at Google. I have never done anything like this before and will probably never have any one read the comments made here, but I will try to put random thoughts here whenever I have a thought I think is worth posting.
My daughter will say that I usually think outside the box because I never found out where the box was. Or that someone once tried to put me in a box and I escaped and vowed to not be put back in.
So the adventure begins....
